Pulao-Chana Recipe

Rice with black Chana Recipe on Healthy Food Street  
This is a healthy recipe and mostly cooked by Indians. 
Pulao is also called salty rice.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Chana (white or black)
  • 2 cup rice soaked for about 20 minutes
  • 5 tbs. oil or ghee
  • 1 piece of onion cut into slice
  • 5 black pepper (Kali Mirch).
  • 5 cloves (Laung)
  • 1 tbs. ginger paste (Adrak)
  • 1 tbs. garlic paste (Lehsan)
  • 1 tsp. cumin seeds (Zeera)
  • 1 or 2 black cardamom (Bari ilaichi)
  • 1piece of cinnamon (Dalchini)
  • 1 tsp. salt (as per taste)
Preperation
Take a pig pan and add 3 cups water in it. Put the pan on burner and add 1 cup chana. Boil it till the chana becomes soft but does not boil too much. Drain the chanas and keep them aside. Take one extra pan, add the oil and the onions. Wait till the onion starts to turn brown.
Rice with black Chana Recipe on Healthy Food StreetPut in the ginger (Adrak), cumin seeds (Zeera), black peppercorn (Kali Mirch), garlic (Lehsan), clove (Laung), black cardamom (Bari ilaichi), cinnamon and salt along with half cup of water. Mix it well and let the water to dry. Now include the chanas in it and rice. Make sure your rice must be pre soaked for about 20 to 30 minutes. Now add water. Level of water must be about a 1½ cm above the level of the mixture (rice and chana).
Let it to be cook till the water dries and now your rice and chana are soft. Decrease the burner heat to the minimum level and let them to cook in their own steam for 5 minutes. After 5 minute turn off burner and put it off. Serve this healthy and tasty dish with salad.

Carrot Halva Recipe on Healthy Food Street 

Carrot also called Gajar in hind/Urdu languages. 
This is a sweet dish recipe.


 




Ingredients
Following are the ingredients which are used for the preparation of Carrot Halva (Gajar ka Halva).

  • 1 kg carrots grated 
  • 1and 1/2 cups sugar 
  •  5 or 6 green cardamom seeds also called “Chhoti ilaichi” 
  • ½ cup oil or ghee 
  • Cheese or Khoya 
  • Dry fruits as you wish like almond, pistachio, raisins etc. 
  • Milk 2 cup or 5-6 tbs. powder milk 

Preparation
 
Carrot Halva Recipe on Healthy Food StreetFirst of all choose fresh and healthy carrots. Grate the carrots. Put carrots in a big pan at low heat and put green cardamom seeds (chotti ilaichi). When carrots become soft and water dries. Then add sugar after one minute adds oil, cheese (khoya), dry fruits and milk. Mix this and wait until water dried out. Now sweet and healthy carrot halwa is ready and can be served hot or cold.
